Where are the pictures located in a blackberry backup file?

My mom lost all her pictures the other day and i think they are in the backup file we have on the computer. What part of the backup file are the pictures located in?

the IPD file (backup file) is encrypted. You would need speacial software for that. I wouldn't recommend going about it that way.

First off make sure you are using the lastest version of DTM (Desktop Manager). Go to your cell phone provider's webiste and you would be able to locate what version you should have for the OS version you are running on the BB.

How I would get those pics is the SIMPLE way.

I would take a FRESH backup and save it with todays date. Make sure autoback up is off in the DTM options.

Then you restore the phone with the OLD backup! Once you have the pictures back on your phone. Then use Media manager in the DTM to transfer your pics to your computer.

Once that is done then simply do a restore from your New backup file. Then go back to Media Manager and add your pics on your phone.

Then take a backup image of your phone again!

Delete the other two previous backup images or keep them as you wish!

I know this is a lengthy process but that is the BEST way to make sure that there is 0% loss of data integrity and both your phone and backup images are UPTODATE!

While you at it... make sure you are running the most upto date OS on your handheld. You will need to download the latest version from your service providers website!
