Our apartment lost power, and there are no backup lights in the hallway or by the stairs, so its pitch black, and there are no windows either. Is this legal?
all city and towns are different call the fire department and they will tell you what is code for that city
It sure is recommended for you to have backup lights in your house...hallway or by the stairs. Window is recommended too for a good ventilation.
Outside yes inside no.
