My Windows Vista cannot start up~ all I can do is to install a fresh copy of Windows Vista on my computer or open the command prompt. Before I install a fresh copy of my OS, I want to create a backup to save my old files.
If you want to do it without any operating system, you will have to take backup of whole partition. It can be done using bootable cd containing command prompt as cd of windows 98. The software you will load through command prompt is GHOST. But you can use the command prompt and copy your desired data only as well in some other drive. Just the thing is that you should be able to use the commands such as dir, copy, etc. I hope it satisfies you...
