due to short of discs i had to stop it.
So is there any way that i can continue from the same position?
Unless the backup utility you are now using is made to span disks you will need to find another program that does. Most backup utilituies are made to span and its suprising that you have one that doesn't.
Are you by any chanch just trying to copy your files to a DVD? If you are don't. This is not going to back up the system files you need nor is it going to backup any files that are in use.
There are 2 different ways of backing up. One is to backupup the data files and the other is to make an image which will backup everything on the drive including partition information. Both have their good and bad points. The image requires you to reinstall everything that was backed up but will replace your entire system or let you move it to another drive. File backups will restore data back to the backed up disk to replace missing or corrupted data, but will not preform a disaster recovery..
Best thing that I can think of is to get Ahead Nero software program. One of its features is to backup files to more than 1 disc...
