I am a novice in working with a laptop (a Gateway W6501 with a built-in SD card drive) on my own and also in dealing with my new digital camera (a Panasonic Lumix TZ5). I need to know step-by-step how to backup the SD memory card to a PhotoImage CDr disk. Then I need to know how to get my pictures from that memory card into my Pictures folder in Windows Vista. I need lots of help!

insert the memory card into your PC. it will probably be in the (F:) drive (Removable Disc) or depending on the setting of your computer. go there and double it, it will display all the photos that the card has. click "Select All" and choose another folder inside your PC or you may create a new folder. on this folder, click "Copy" and all the photos will be copied on this folder. then remove the memory card from your PC. next, insert a blank CD in your PC slot/drive. go to the folder where your photos are, same procedure, click "Select All" and click "Copy" to the CD. the photos will be uploaded into the CD now.

*if the photos are in the digital camera, plug in the camera thru the USB slot. it will open a window to upload all the pics into your PC. you maybe prompt also to select photos you want to upload into the PC as you like. once uploaded into the PC, remove the camera from your PC and same procedure, insert a blank disc. select all the photos and copy into your CD.

you need to connect the camera to your computer (via usp port) or if you have an sd card slot you could use that. Then go to my computer and find the external drive (your camera) and drag the files onto your computer from the folder. then insert the cdr disc or cdrw disc and drag the pics onto the cd. (This is easier if you use a cdrw because there's no cd burning involved)

Hope this helped
